This year our Diocese will hold its 13th Annual Diocesan Days on Labor Day weekend, September 4 through September 6, in Jackson, California. We take this opportunity to invite you to support this very important and uplifting event by coming and participating in all the Church Services, workshops and other planned activites. We encourage you to come and spend time with family and friends and enjoy a weekend of delicous food and entertainment. Information regarding the schedule of events will be available soon!

His Grace, Bishop Justin
The Lord Bishop of the Diocese of Timok Justin (Stefanovic)
was born in 1955 in Cacak, groing up in Belgrade, where
he finished his education at chemical-technological college,
he opted for a course in economics 1980, giving his studies
up and going to the holy monastery of crna reka.
As the first spiritual child, of the Abbot and now Bishop
of Rasko-Prizren His Grace Artemije (Radosavljevic), he
struggled in monastic obedience and together with the
Abbot to build the monastery in which he recieved the
monastic tonsure in 1983, and quickly after this he was
ordained
as a priest.
He graduated from the theological faculty of Belgrade in 1987, his post graduate studies he completed in Athens in 1990. His disertation After the election of Bishop Artemije to the Episcopate, he took on the abbacy of the Crna Reka Monastery.
In 1992 the Holy Assembly of Bishop`s elected the Abbot Justin to be a Vicar Bishop with the title, Bishop of Hvosno, to assist the sickly and elderly Bishop the Lord Milutin of Timok, with the rights and resposibilities of a diocesan Hierarch. In the same year he continued his post graduate studies completeing at the end his dissertation in pastoral pshychology.
Two Times he has been elected with a mandate to be a member of the Holy Synod.
Woodcarving he has worked with from the earliest days of his monastic life, his work being displayed in for the enjoyment and edification of the public, in the gallery of applied arts in Belgrade in 1995.
From his diocesan see in Zajecar-he has untiringly worked at building his diocese spiritually and feeding the people of the diocese of Timok. He regularly gives sermons, speeches, into all parts of his diocese.
From this region many have chosen the monastic life and were exalted by this way of life.
With the blessing of Vladika Justin in 1994 after a pause of 50 yrs he blessed the diocesan magazine Glasnik, as an expression of believing and spiritual culture .
He was awarded the prize of Captain Misa Atanasjevic, for the 2005 personality of the year! for his spiritual and pastoral work.
A lover of art and beautiful words. He has been present and taken part in many international, congress`s and symposium`s in the areas of his many and varied interests.
On the international front he was awarded many times for his spiritual and cultural work and humanitarian endeavours, especially the Golden Cross by the Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church for the Order of St. Paul 1st class.

Directions from areas south of Stockton: Take 99 Freeway North to Highway 88 East. Follow Highway 88 east until you reach Highway 49. Turn south on Highway 49 for 1 mile. Turn left onto Main Street which will take you through the town of Jackson. Main street will curve to the left where it will become Water Street. Turn Right at Broadway and continue past Highway 88 and then past French Bar Road. Just after French Bar Road turn left onto Saint Sava Mission Property.
Directions from areas north of Sacramento: Take Interstate 5 to the Business Loop 80/US 50 East (toward South Late Tahoe). Take Bradshaw Avenue exit, turn right onto southbound Bradshaw Avenue, proceed south until you reach Highway 16, and then turn left onto Highway 16. Go east on Highway 16 for about 25 miles, then take a right onto Highway 49. Stay on Highway 16 for about 10 miles.
Directions from areas near San Francisco: Take Interstate east to Interstate 205 east until you reach Interstate 5. Take Interstate 5 north until you reach Freeway 4 which takes you through Stockton. Follow Freeway 4 until you reach Freeway 99. Take Freeway 99 north to the Liberty Road exit. Turn right onto Liberty Road and proceed east to Highway 88. Turn left onto Highway 88. Follow Highway 88 east for about 25 miles until you reach Highway 49. Take Highway 49 south for 1 mile to Jackson.
