The Honorable Arnold Schwarzenegger
Governor of California
State Capitol
1303 19th Street
Sacramento, CA  95814

Dear Governor:

During this time of devastation and despair resulting from the destructive wildfires that have spread quickly and mercilessly across the many communities of Southern California, I wish to express my heartfelt concern and offer prayers and support on behalf of the Western American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the United States of America and Canada to all those who have lost their loved ones, their homes, and their livelihoods.

I also extent to you, Governor Schwarzenegger, my prayers for your continued efforts in providing the necessary resources to the brave firefighters who relentlessly battle the fires, to the law enforcement officers who have ensured the safe evacuations of a million people, and to the volunteers who are providing the assistance needed to help the victims recover from this nature disaster.

Again, I will continue to pray to the Mother of God, “Señora nuestra Reina de Los Angeles”, for a quick resolve to this catastrophe, and for the safety and protection of all those affected. May God give us all strength and wisdom in this time of uncertainty.

Respectfully yours,
Bishop Maxim
