Bishop Maxim's visit to Monastery Tvdos, Herzegovina - Eпископ Западноамерички Г. Максим у посети Призрену

On October 7, 2012 His Grace, Bishop Maxim travelled to Kosovo and Metohije. He visited Monastery Tvrdos and served the Divine Liturgy in Prizren. While there he visited the seminary where he was introduced to the life and work of the theological school.
Later in the day His Grace visited the Gracanica Monastery and then continued on to Belgrade. 

Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos Slava

Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos Church Celebrates SlavaSunday, September 23, 2012 was a joyous day at the Nativity of the most Holy Theotokos Serbian Orthodox Church. 

His Grace, Bishop Maxim, together with V. Rev. Blasko Paraklis and the parishioners and friends of the parish assembled together to celebrate the parish Slava, The Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos and Virgin Mary. 

The day began with the Hierarachical  Divine Liturgy with beautiful responses sung by the parish choir.  After the Divine Liturgy everyone gathered for the Slava service and then a festival banquet and program.

Visit to Phoenix and Installation of a new Priest

V. Rev. Tuba becomes new priest at St. Sava Church in PhoenixOn Sunday, September 16th, 2012 His Grace, Bishop Maxim visited the parish of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Phoenix, AZ. 

On this day during the Divine Liturgy, His Grace installed the new parish priest, V. Rev. Tuba. 

A welcome banquet for Fr. Tuba and his family followed the Divine Liturgy.

Cathedral Academic Year in Chicago Begins

Academic School Year 2012 BeginsHis Grace, Bishop Maxim opened the he academic year at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago  on Sunday, September 9th, with the celebration of a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy and Invocation of the Holy Spirit

– the “Spirit of Truth” and “Treasury of blessings” – upon the children, students, parents, teachers, and volunteers who participate in the Cathedral’s wide range of educational activities.

Diocesan Days 2012 - Remembering the Future Things

processionThis year marked the 16 gathering of the local Church in the West. The presiding hierarch, His Grace Bishop Maxim, convened the clergy, monastics, and laity of his diocese, affirming the Eucharistic dimension of the local Church of God; that the Liturgy itself is the center of our life and a very act of passage and ascension into the Kingdom of God and the Future Life.
The theme for the 2012 diocesan days pointed to this often forgotten dimension of the Church and her Eucharistic gathering. “Remembering the Future Things: an End even greater than the beginning,” points to the very function of theleitourgia as the gathering and the work of God’s Church to reveal that the true meaning of all things is in Christ - to actually become the manifestation of the new creation redeemed by Jesus Christ.

Fair Oaks Parish Celebrates Parish Slava

On August 26, 2012 His Grace, Bishop Maxim travelled with guest hierarchs Ignatije and Grigorije to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Fair Oaks, California to concelebrate the Divine Liturgy on the Feast of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  

Following the Divine Liturgy the Hierarchs, Clergy, and faithful gathered in the hall for Slava service, banquet, and festivities.
